Alcohol based Defoamer is a versatile oil drilling defoamer capable of effectively removing entrapped air from all types of water based mud under severe field conditions in a wide range of operations. Alcohol based Defoamer is utilized to reduce surface tension in water based drilling fluids as well as solids free work over and completion fluids. Alcohol based Defoamer is Effective at high temperature and at different PH of water based mud. Alcohol based Defoamer tolerates high concentration of salts.

APPLICATIONS
Alcohol based Defoameis a wide‐application product that reduces the foaming tendencies of water‐base muds. It is compatible with freshwater muds, brackish water muds, seawater muds, saturated salt muds, brine completion systems and all common mud additives. Alcohol based Defoamer is easy to mix, works quickly, is effective in low concentrations and is a more persistent defoamer than alternative products. Normal treatments of Alcohol based Defoamerrange from 0.10 to 0.20 lb/bbl (0.29 to 0.58 kg/m³).
The use of Alcohol based Defoamer is recommended for foam prevention when making periodic treatments with organic materials such as lignosulfonate, lignite and tannin‐base additives. When preparing brines, a pre‐treatment of 0.25 lb/bbl (0.72 kg/m3) of defoamer is effective in preventing foaming. 
Alcohol based Defoamer additive should be added to the mud pits in a location that allows the product to be incorporated into the entire circulatingmud system. Alcohol basedDefoamershould not be diluted, but should be added directly to the drilling fluid system by either a drip method from a 5‐gal container or as a shock by broadcasting over the surface of the pit. Dilution significantly reduces the effectiveness of the product. is an alcohol based oilfield defoamer and is normally utilized to reduce and control the foaming in brines. It is compatible with fresh water mud, sea water mud and brine system mud. It is also effective in KCL and sea water mud.

PACKAGING AND STROAGE

Alcohol based Defoamer is packaged in 55‐gal (208‐L) drums. Store in dry, well‐ventilated area. Keep container closed. Keep away from heat, sparks and flames. Store away from incompatibles. Follow safe warehousing practices regarding palletizing, ba nding, shrink‐wrapping and/or stacking.
