Characteristic and Property

Physical Appearance: The Material shall be in the form of clear liquid or emulsion, free from all visible impurities and shall easily be pourable from its container. 

(A) Performance Test (as Defoamer):
(i)    Take 184 mlof Fresh Water in Hamilton Beach Mixer and add 0.8% VISION approved Retarder, 0.8% Turbulence Inducer, and 1% Fluid Loss Additive (BWOC) and stir well to ensure complete dispersion. Add 400g of VISION approved API Class `G' (HSR) Cement blended with 33% Silica Flour (BWOC) mix well with spatula and stir for 35 sec in Hamilton Beach Mixer at high speed to obtain a 46% Slurry.
Record the calculated specific gravity of the cement slurry.

(ii)    Treat the above Slurry with 0.1% (1000 ppm BWOC) concentration of defoamer and determine the specific gravity of the Cement Slurry.
Specific Gravity of the defoamer treated slurry should not be lower by more than 0.02 from the calculated specific gravity of the cement slurry.
(B) Performance Test (as Antifoamer) :
Take 184ml of Fresh Water and add 0.1% Defoamer and add VISION approved 0.8% Retarder, 0.8% Turbulence Inducer and 1% Fluid Loss Additive ( BWOC) and stir well to ensure complete dispersion. Add 400g of VISION approved API Class `G' (HSR) Cement blended with 33% Silica Flour (BWOC). Mix well with spatula and stir well for 35 seconds in Hamilton Beach Mixer at high speed (46% Slurry).
Specific Gravity of the antifoamer treated slurry should not be lower by more than 0.02 from the calculated specific gravity of cement slurry.
Thickening Time Test :
(i) Prepare the Cement Slurry as in 2A(i) and determine its thickening time at 12000 psi pressure and 1500C (raised in 40 minutes ).
Record the Thickening Time of the untreated slurry.

(ii) Treat the Slurry as in 2A(i) with 0.1% (1000 ppm) BWOC of the Defoamer Sample and determine the thickening time as in 3(i).
Thickening Time of the treated slurry should not be less than the thickening time of the untreated slurry 3(i).
Note: Manufacturer shall provide a certificate to the effect that the shelf life of the material shall not be less than 1 year and shall indicate the manufacturing date of the product.

It can be stored in closed containers away from direct sunlight at ambient temperature. During handling, direct contact with human body is to be avoided. Safety goggles and gloves are recommended for safe handling.
